About

The exhibition was a collaboration between Ruby Jhunjhunwala, and a young Kathak and Contemporary Dancer, Mr. Hrishikesh Pawar. The two artists, from genres and generations apart, came together to fill this historic space of The Rajabahadur Mills, Pune, with their feelings, memories, dreams and responses. Together they attempted to create not only an art exhibition, but an experience which allows every viewer to connect with their inner self. For the past two years, they have been associating on various shows across the country, with a vision of conveying the message of Inclusion and Acceptance of differently-abled members of the society.

A glimpse of the letters

In other places ...

Did it in a hotel with my family and friends for 105 rooms in Chennai, India. For fun's sake!
My sister and I put notes in the elevators in our society during the Covid season.
Did it with my friend in my college, in France, with a slight twist. Cultural differences were seen.

What they had to say ...

Challenges

- We had to keep building onto a process, a management style that suits the whole team. It was a spontaneous, layered process, but a great learning opportunity.

Learnings

- It was also a good learning experience to instill patience and understanding in a young student like me.
- I met a lot of interesting creatives and that helped me grow my communication, engagement skills and network in my city to a great scale.
- My entire role in the project taught me innumerable skills - design and non-design related.
- Heightened human communication, connection and engagement across all economic backgrounds.

What's Next?

- To use these learnings and tools and build on them to explore Spatial Storytelling and Exhibition Design as a future prospect for my career.
